Description

Val di Fassa and Val di Fiemme – automatically one has mental pictures of beautiful mountain views of the spectacular Dolomites.
When thinking of the Dolomites, mountain biking, hiking and rock climbing comes to mind, less so is the fact that these two valleys offer a 46.8km bike track which follows the Aviso Torrent from Canazei (1465m a.s.l) to Molina di Fiemme (850m a.s.l).
The Avisio’s source is the Marmolada Glacier and winds through the main towns until it reaches the Adige near Trento.
The idea adopted by the 2 tourist associations is to follow the motto “where there is a river, there must be a bike track” .
Keeping in mind the difference in altitude of these two towns, a track which is completely flat is virtually impossible and only those with good preparation can follow the track from Molina to Canazei which is almost 600m in altitude gain.
In order to cater for all types of cycling fans, the Fassa and Fiemme tourist offices offer a bike shuttle service in the summer months of July to September. Known as the Fiemme-Fassa Bike Express, this bus with bike trailer transports cyclists between Molina and Canazei several times a day with 15 stops along the way.  This allows riders to enjoy the magnificent views in a downhill direction.
